Tips for the week of 11/25/13 – 12/1/13
You can’t be successful at everything.
Improvisation begins with exploration.
What have you explored today?
Keep a jazz lick book. Check out this blog post on how: How to Keep a Lick Book
How do you really learn something? You Learn it, Re-Learn it, then Over-Learn it.
Knowing information isn’t enough. You have to be able to apply it.
Hate practicing with a metronome? Try using a drum app instead. Drum School is my favorite app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/drum-school/id414417836?mt=8
Need to practice high notes? Try playing something lower you already know up an octave!
Did you find any of these tips helpful? Let me know in the comments below. See you next week!
