Wow. I ended up getting a bunch of these – particularly looking forward to the Amazing Slow Downer. Thank so much for the recommendations!

Thank you so much for your comment. Unfortunately, I have not tried anything else, but I did go and check out Symphony Pro on the app store (I remember that not being very impressive a year ago) and it seems like a really strong alternative. There’s a great demo on their website that you should check out. I’d love to try it out and compare, but I’m not able to shell out $14.99 for it. I’ll contact them and see if they will let me have it in exchange for a review!

Good luck on your quest. If I get to try Symphony Pro I’ll let you know! Please do the same and tell me what you think!

Thx for your practicable review!
Question: Have U tried or found better alternatives?
Symphony Pro?

I just need it for piano notation and want onscreen piano for entering. Handling has to be no fuzz. But above all it has to work.
Would be thankful for advice or opinion,

Cool analysis!

I tend to go the opposite way to teach improv. — by using major ii-V-I’s and then eventually minor blues (not “standard” blues). Why? No broken theory rules, no new scales to learn, and fewer notes that sound bad (to kid’s ears). Stick to a key signature and you’re in pretty good shape.

I’ll have to try this analysis with my kids and see what they think. There are some that would really dig it, I think. (Boy — wouldn’t it be nice if all kids learned the same way!)

Glad its paying off…I’ve been dabbling myself…starting to find an elusive clarity I was lacking. “Giant Steps” wasn’t so bad today…but I was playing it really slow though.

And I’ve been doing the scale thing he has in that book…good stuff. Playing different enclosures and hearing the nuances as the different 1/2 and whole combinations come up…and not just thinking my way through them has been helpful.
