I so agree with you Monica. I think that it’s definitely up to us as educators to pick up the ball, so to speak. I think about that often as I watch those who taught me growing and getting older. Thanks for this entry. I had taken lessons from Terry when I was 10. Though I gave up sax, I never strayed far from jazz and eventually became really involved in the Flagstaff jazz scene during high school. This post made me somewhat nostalgic for that time. Best wishes!
